This is what democracy looked like!

In Wisconsin, the chant "What does democracy look like?" was answered by "This is what democracy looks like!"  Their Capitol building was surrounded and engulfed by concerned citizens protesting Governor Walker's decimation of public sector unions in the state.

In ancient Athens, the Pnyx was the center of their democracy.  This stony hill overlooked the Agora and the men would gather there to discuss and vote on important matters.  Each "assembly" would begin with the words "Who wishes to speak?"  Definitely, this was an early form of "standing on your soap box."

This is what democracy LOOKED like nearly 2500 years ago.
